Dr. Ryan J. Li, MD FACS is a head and neck surgeon at the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon, USA. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and the Director of the Head and Neck Surgical Oncology Fellowship, and the Head and Neck Robotic Surgery Program. Dr. Li completed his residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by a head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular surgery fellowship at Stanford University, before joining the faculty at OHSU. His clinical practice includes head and neck cancer surgery including TORS, microvascular reconstructive surgery, and thyroid and parathyroid surgery. Dr. Li is proud to care for patients together with other members of the multidisciplinary head and neck cancer team at OHSU. Dr. Li’s academic interests include economic models to estimate financial strain on households of cancer patients, as well as studying the feasibility of catastrophic income protection insurance programs for disabled patients. He also is collaborating with CUHK faculty in developing postoperative analgesia programs that reduce utilization of opioids, and significant challenge in the United States.
