Professor Ichiro Tateya is a chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, School of Medicine, Fujita Health University, Japan. He graduated from Kyoto University, Faculty of Medicine in 1994. After his residency in Kyoto University Hospital and other related hospitals, he was certified as a specialist of Otolaryngology by Otolaryngology Society of Japan in 1999. He entered Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University in 1999 and has gotten the thesis of PhD in 2003. He has done research in laryngology in University of Wisconsin-Madison as a postdoctoral fellow from 2003 and 2006. After working in Kyoto University as an assistant professor then an associate professor from 2008 to 2019, he has been working in a current position since July, 2019. His interests include the vocal fold development and regeneration, phonosurgery, endoscopic laryngo-pharyngeal surgery, and transoral robotic surgery. He has published 110 peer-reviewed articles in international journals.
